Overview

  • 9cm Height - Ring Short 90 is the ideal height for your small breed dogs.

  • Stainless Steel Bowl - A small 330ml bowl compatible with slow feeder inserts.

  • Grippy Non Slip Feet - Increases surface friction to help prevent your hungry pup from pushing the stand around.

Its ergonomic design promotes healthier posture, helping to reduce strain on your dogs back and relieve tension during meals. It’s not just a bowl, it’s a thoughtful addition to your pet's well-being.

An elevated bowl height of 9cm (a little under 4 inches) is the absolute sweet spot for a wide range of small dog breeds. As a general rule of thumb for ergonomics, the top of a raised bowl should align roughly with the lower chest/top of the front legs so the dog can eat without excessively bending their neck or crouching.

Which Dog is the Rings Short 90 suitable for?

The specific types and breeds of small dogs that would benefit most from a 9cm elevation fall into three main categories:

1. Miniature & Small Long-Backed Breeds

Dogs with elongated spines are prone to back issues like Intermittent Vertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). Bending all the way down to the floor puts extra strain on their necks and spines. Raising the bowl to 9cm allows them to stand in a completely neutral, level posture while eating.

  • Miniature Dachshunds (Ideal height for standard or slightly taller minis)
  • Standard Dachshunds (Particularly smaller standards)
  • Corgis (Pembroke and Cardigan puppies or smaller adults)
  • Basset Hound Puppies

2. Brachycephalic (Flat-Faced) Breeds

Flat-faced dogs naturally struggle with physics at mealtime. When eating from a floor-level bowl, they tend to push their food around, swallow a lot of excess air (leading to gas and bloat), and can experience respiratory discomfort. A 9cm elevation opens up their airway and lets gravity help the food go down more comfortably.

  • Pugs
  • French Bulldogs (Smaller/standard sizes)
  • Boston Terriers
  • Shih Tzus
  • Cavalier King Charles Spaniels

3. Toy to Small Sized Breeds (Healthy Adults)

For standard toy and small breeds standing roughly 20cm to 30cm (8 to 12 inches) tall at the shoulder, a 9cm bowl offers the perfect ergonomic height to reduce everyday joint strain.

  • Jack Russell Terriers
  • Border Terriers
  • Miniature Poodles
  • West Highland White Terriers (Westies)
  • Cairn Terriers
  • Bichon Frises
  • Miniature Schnauzers (Smaller adults)
Care Instructions

Warning:

The elevated raiser is a delicate decorative item and needs specific care when cleaning. Please follow the instructions carefully to ensure your raiser keeps looking great.

How to clean your Elevated Raiser and bowl:

  • Remove the Stainless Steel bowl. (The Stainless Steel bowl can be washed like any other kitchen item and is dishwasher safe.)
  • The decorative raiser stand should be hand washed with a damp cloth only.
  • DO NOT submerge the raiser stand in water ! This will cause the stand to warp and loose shape.
  • DO NOT use hot water, lukewarm slightly soapy water should be used to clean the raiser.
  • Dry the raiser immediately after cleaning, do not allow water to sit on the surface for a prolonged duration.
